Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrically Biased)

Salary: £57,750 / year

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (Rotating shifts: 12:00-24:00 / 07:00-19:00, adjusting to 09:00-21:00 during peak/quiet seasonal periods)

We are currently seeking a dynamic and diligent Multi-Skilled Engineer (Electrically Biased) to join our growing engineering team and ensure the smooth running of our state-of-the-art facility.

The Role

The purpose of this role is to facilitate the planned, preventative (PPM), and reactive maintenance of a wide range of production and packaging machinery. You will play a pivotal role in minimizing downtime and driving continuous improvements across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all production machinery and facility equipment are maintained to optimum efficiency standards.
  • Utilize advanced fault-finding techniques to react quickly to mechanical and electrical breakdowns, communicating clearly with production teams.
  • Execute a systematic planned maintenance programme to minimize downtime and reduce business cost impacts.
  • Manage a stock of critical spare parts and handle ordering for upcoming service and repair work.
  • Assist with the installation, modification, and commissioning of new site equipment.
  • Maintain strict adherence to all health and safety regulations, ensuring work is carried out safely.

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will need a strong electrical foundation paired with robust mechanical skills, ideally gained within a fast-paced manufacturing or food production environment.

Requirements:

Qualifications: Served electrical apprenticeship (City & Guilds), HNC, ONC, NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition, or equivalent.

Experience: Proven track record as a Multi-Skilled Engineer with strong PLC fault-finding and diagnostics experience.

Systems: Familiarity with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems).

Skills: Exceptional diagnostic and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

Communication: Effective communication skills; ability to engage with all levels of the business (Minimum B2 English proficiency).

Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple tasks, reprioritise under pressure, and manage stakeholder expectations.
