We are currently recruiting an experienced Multi-Skilled Operative to support a high-volume property maintenance contract covering sites across Cambridge. This is a dynamic role perfect for a professional who takes pride in solving a diverse range of technical issues on the first visit.

Operating across residential and commercial properties, you will be responsible for executing responsive, planned, and preventative maintenance tasks spanning plumbing, basic electrics, fabric repairs, and grounds upkeep.

What You'll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities)

  • Plumbing Maintenance: Diagnosing and resolving reactive leaks, replacing sanitary ware, unblocking domestic pipework, and handling minor system modifications.
  • Electrical Support: Safely performing minor electrical works such as changing faceplates, replacing light fittings, renewing faulty switches, and basic electrical fault-finding.
  • Grounds & External Works: Executing minor external repairs, fence patch fixes, paving adjustments, clearance tasks, and ensuring outdoor communal spaces remain safe and functional.
  • Property Fabric Care: Assisting with day-to-day carpentry, tiling, and plaster patching to return occupied or empty properties to an excellent condition.
  • Customer Facing: Interacting with occupiers, clients, and residents in a professional, courteous manner while maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
  • Digital Workflow: Utilizing an assigned handheld PDA or mobile application to manage job tickets, update progress, order required parts, and log completions.

About You (Requirements)

  • Multi-Trade Experience: Proven, hands-on experience across multiple core areas, specifically plumbing, basic domestic electrical tasks, and general property maintenance.
  • Property Environment Background: Comfortable and experienced operating within occupied customer premises and vacant units alike.
  • Certifications: Relevant trade qualifications (NVQ/City & Guilds) are highly desirable, along with a solid understanding of workplace Health & Safety practices.
  • Driving Licence: Must hold a valid UK driving licence to effectively cover regional sites across Cambridge.
  • Tooling: Equipped with your own comprehensive set of standard hand tools and basic power tools suitable for multi-trade work.
  • Professionalism: Strong customer service orientation with a professional, solution-focused attitude on-site.

Contract Details

  • Pay Rate: £18.00 per hour
  • Working Hours: Standard Monday to Friday framework (typically 37 - 40 hours per week).
  • Location: Centered in Cambridge with local site travel.
