We are seeking an experienced candidate to take ownership of our calibration and inspection operations. In this role, you will be the technical authority for your assigned discipline, keeping our testing equipment running accurately, driving UKAS accreditation growth, leading external audits (ISO 17020 / ISO 9001), and developing new lab capabilities. What You'll Do Ensure Technical Excellence: Maintain, calibrate, and validate test equipment while ensuring all work meets ISO 17020 and ISO 17025 standards. Lead Accreditation & Audits: Serve as the technical lead for UKAS and external audits, working closely with the Quality Manager. Develop & Train: Authorise signatory competence for staff, write and validate new calibration methods, and build operational calculation tools (Excel). Drive Capability: Identify gaps, build new internal testing capabilities, and deliver quarterly growth reports. Maintain Quality & Safety: Manage lab safety risk assessments, equipment traceability, non-conformance investigations, and environmental monitoring.What We're Looking For Experience: 5+ years working within a recognised inspection or testing environment. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of ISO 17020 and ISO 9001 standards; UKAS laboratory management experience is a plus. Qualifications: Relevant technical qualification; IOSH Managing Safely and Laboratory Internal Auditor certifications preferred. Practical Skills: Advanced Excel skills for building math/calculation models, PAT testing experience, and internal auditing skills.
