Role Overview
- Location: Stockton-on-Tees
- Pay Rate: £31.85 - £33.85 per hour
- Contract: 12 months
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Your Responsibilities
- Leading the design, development, and optimisation of product packaging solutions to meet strict safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
- Providing detailed specifications to suppliers and collaborating closely with logistics providers and cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation.
- Evaluating packaging materials, machinery, and automation technologies, and reporting results regularly.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives and utilising risk-based decision making and root cause analysis to minimise transportation damage.
- Adhering to packaging development processes and approving packaging for specific product lines.
- Undertaking occasional travel for supplier visits and training purposes at other company facilities.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Significant experience gathered within an industrial packaging or material handling equipment context.
- Proficiency in CAD software, including the capability to utilise 3D CAD for design reviews and interpret technical CAD drawings.
- Strong project management experience with tangible examples of project leadership.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to challenge, influence, and collaborate effectively across all levels.
- The ability to balance cost, performance, and sustainability considerations.
- Familiarity with global supply chains.
- Technical documentation and presentation skills.
