JOB TITLE: Sentinel OTP 04 Any Line Open (ALO) Supervisor Location: Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire Duration: 5-6 Weeks Temporary Contract Start Date: Approximately 2 weeks Rate: Competitive Day Rate (Dependant on Experience / Pay Type) ABOUT THE ROLE We are currently recruiting an experienced Sentinel Competent OTP 04 Any Line Open (ALO) Supervisor for an upcoming 5-6 week contract on a commercial retail development in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire. This role is critical in overseeing civil engineering operations-specifically sheet piling and perimeter fencing works-executed along the Network Rail boundary immediately adjacent to an operational railway line. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Act as the lead ALO Supervisor (OTP 04) on site, enforcing strict compliance with Network Rail ALO standards and safety regulations. Oversee site teams and specialist sub-contractors undertaking sheet piling and security fencing works along the railway boundary. Monitor plant movements, slew restrictions, and height limiters to ensure no encroachment onto the operational railway line. Conduct daily site briefings, risk assessments (RAMS), and tool box talks focused on ALO working and boundary safety. Maintain clear lines of communication between the main contractor, site management, and rail stakeholder liaisons. REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS Essential: Valid Sentinel Card with current OTP 04 Any Line Open Supervisor competency. Essential: Proven track record supervising construction/civil engineering projects adjacent to operational rail infrastructure. Essential: Solid background in general civil engineering, site safety enforcement, and subcontractor management. Desirable: Direct experience supervising sheet piling, retaining wall, or boundary fencing installations. Attributes: Proactive approach to safety, strong leadership capabilities, and excellent verbal communication skills.
