Job Title: Carpenter (Second Fix & Flat Roof Work) Location: Birmingham Start Date: Monday, 20th July 2026 Duration: 6 weeks (Temporary Contract) Rate: Competitive hourly/daily rate (Dependent on experience) Job Description We are seeking an experienced and versatile Carpenter for a 6-week contract on a project based in Birmingham. This role requires a skilled tradesperson capable of handling both structural roof carpentry and high-quality internal finishes. You will be splitting your time between structural flat roofing works and standard second-fix internal installations. Key Responsibilities: Roofing Works: Installing structural roof joists and laying flat roof decking to architectural specifications, ensuring solid structural integrity and correct falls. Second Fix Works: Installing internal doors, ironmongery, skirting boards, architraves, and other finishings to a high standard of workmanship. Site Safety: Working safely at height and following all site-specific health, safety, and environmental guidelines. Requirements (Minimum Criteria): Qualifications: Valid CSCS Card is mandatory. Certifications: Must hold Working at Heights and Asbestos Awareness certificates. (Note: If you do not currently hold these, they can be completed quickly online prior to the Monday, 20th July start date). Tools: Must have your own full kit of professional carpentry tools (both first and second-fix tools) and full PPE. Experience: Proven track record in both structural roofing and internal second-fix carpentry. Randstad CPE values diversity and promotes equality.
