Appointed Person - Lifting Operations Location: Greater Manchester (Site-Based) Project Scope: Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) Framework Contract Type: Freelance, inside IR35 Duration: April 2027 Role Brief: We are seeking an experienced Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) with a valid CPCS Blue Card to join a leading Tier 1 Civil Engineering Contractor delivering critical infrastructure upgrades across the TfGM Framework. In this site-based role, you will hold primary responsibility for the planning, management, and execution of all lifting operations across complex civil engineering environments (e.g., rail, bridge works, structures, and transport interchanges). Candidate Responsibilities: Produce, review, and approve comprehensive Lift Plans, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements (RAMS) for standard, complex, and tandem lifting operations. Supervise and direct all lifting activities on site, ensuring operations strictly adhere to approved Lift Plans and method statements. Brief Crane Supervisors, Slinger Signallers, Crane Operators, and site teams via daily pre-start briefings and lift inductions.
