Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Site Agent to provide site management, leadership, and operational control across multi-disciplinary construction teams (including Sub Agents, Section Engineers, Site Engineers, and Foremen) for project operations based in Aberdeen. The successful candidate will drive project delivery with an uncompromising commitment to health, safety, quality, and commercial efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Leadership & People Management: Lead, motivate, and mentor section teams; manage performance and identify training needs to ensure high competency across all levels.
  • Health, Safety & Environment: Set and monitor H&S targets and KPIs. Lead risk reviews, carry out safety tours, support incident investigations, and enforce safe working systems across site operations.
  • Engineering & Quality Control: Allocate resources effectively, interpret technical drawings, oversee quality management systems, and take full ownership of section handover documentation and self-certification.
  • Productivity & Programme Management: Analyze and update resourced programmes, manage subcontractor performance via KPIs, and run Short Interval Control meetings to ensure progress aligns with project targets.
  • Commercial & Cost Management: Produce financial forecasts, manage section cost plans, assist with subcontractor procurement, and maintain accurate records for cost recovery.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualifications: Valid CSCS Card, SMSTS qualification, and a full UK Driving License.
  • Experience: Proven track record in managing varied infrastructure works, pavement reconstruction, surfacing operations, testing, and project handovers.
  • Commercial Knowledge: Working knowledge of NEC contracts (or similar forms) and experience tracking performance against budget forecasts.
  • Leadership & Safety Focus: Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplined teams, communicate safe systems of work clearly, and intervene when safety standards are breached.
  • Flexibility: Strong work ethic with willingness to work nights or unsociable hours when dictated by project programmes.

Desirable Criteria

  • Professional accreditation or working towards chartership (e.g., ICE, IHT).
  • Experience coaching direct reports in method statement production and accident/incident investigations.
