We have a fantastic opportunity for an Ad Hoc Best Interest Assessor to support the DoLS Team in the East Riding area. This role is perfect for experienced social workers looking to pick up individual assessments on a flexible basis ensuring all deprivations of liberty are lawful and person-centered.

Responsibilities:
- Completing statutory Best Interest Assessments in line with the Mental Capacity Act (2005)
- Determining whether the qualifying requirements for a Deprivation of Liberty Safeguard are met
- Conducting consultations with families, carers, IMCAs, and RPRs
- Managing a flexible caseload and meeting agreed statutory timeframes for each referral
- Writing robust, defensible, and concise reports that stand up to legal scrutiny
- Providing expert guidance on mental capacity law during the assessment process
To be considered for the BIA role, ideally you will have:
- BIA Qualification (Post-graduate module successfully completed)
- SWE Registration
- BSc Social Work or equivalent
- Relevant Experience: Previous experience conducting DoLS assessments within a local authority setting
