We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Nurse or ODP (Theatre Practitioner) to join our dynamic surgical unit. This is a crucial role focused on delivering exceptional, responsive patient care and ensuring the efficient operation of the theatre department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end patient journey, including pre-operative telephone assessments and safe admission/discharge following surgery.
  • Provide support for surgical sessions, including assisting with patient preparation and circulating for procedures (training provided).
  • Ensure strict compliance with the WHO Surgical Safety Checklist and all infection control policies.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with professional standards (NMC/ODP).
  • Support the Theatre Lead in resource and stock management, and contribute to clinical governance and audit activities.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP).
  • Consolidated experience in a pre-assessment or ambulatory recovery environment.
  • Demonstrable organizational, leadership, and excellent communication skills.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to managing fast-paced, physically demanding workloads.
