Job Description
Are you an experienced, compassionate and caring support worker looking for a new challenge or a change? Here at Randstad we could have the role for you! We are looking for support workers to come and join our team working on the Scottish Islands.
About the role:
There are a variety of roles available, with care in the community, care at home and care home work available. Experience working with a range of service users is desirable including learning disabilities, elderly, dementia, physical disabilities and some challenging behaviour. The role will allow you to help and care for people who need support and build relationships with them. You will be helping service users with daily tasks such as meal preparation, medication administration, moving and handling, household tasks and general domiciliary care. You will be able to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Scottish islands on your days off.
You would need to be able to commit to a 12 week minimum for the post with contract extensions often available. Accommodation will be provided while on the island. Due to the remote locations of many of the services, it is essential that you have a UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
About you:
- Previous experience working in a care home or in a community care/care at home environment
- You are compassionate and caring towards other with a desire to help people
- You must have strong communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team liaising with wider teams to ensure the best level of care is provided
- Have a strong ability to work independently and use your own initiative
- Minimum of 1 year UK Care experience.
- Have a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle
- Have a right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available)
