We're looking for dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team of Children's Support Workers across residential homes in the North East! Tasks

  • Offering compassionate support to children with diverse needs, including emotional and behavioural challenges, autism, and learning disabilities.
  • Assisting children in developing essential life skills and enhancing their overall well-being.
  • Implementing personalized care plans and behaviour management strategies.
  • Fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
  • Maintaining accurate records of progress, incidents, and observations.
  • Collaborating with colleagues, families, and external agencies for holistic care.
  • Responding to challenging behaviours with patience, professionalism, and understanding.
  • Upholding the highest standards of care and adhering to all safeguarding policies and procedures.

Skills

  • A valid full driving licence and a reliable vehicle.
  • Essential experience in Residential Children's Homes and supporting children with childhood trauma.
  • Flexibility to travel up to an hour to Gateshead, Sunderland, Newcastle, or Durham, and availability for day and night shifts.
  • A commitment to working at least 3 shifts per week.
  • Proof of your Right to Work in the UK.
  • Up-to-date mandatory training certificates, PMVA training, and an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service.
  • The ability to provide employment references covering the last 3 years.
  • Patience, empathy, and strong childcare experience.
  • Knowledge of child protection and behaviour management.

  • Competitive pay: £15.35 per hour for Day shifts (08:00 - 20:00) and £16.88 per hour for Waking Nights (20:00 - 08:00).
  • A flat rate of £57.02 for Sleep-in shifts.
