Randstad is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Child Protection Officer to join a dedicated team within Middlesbrough Council. This is a full-time role offering a competitive hourly rate of £27.56.
The Senior Child Protection Officer will be responsible for conducting thorough child protection investigations, assessments, and case management. Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Undertaking initial assessments of children at risk
- Developing and implementing child protection plans
- Liaising with families, social workers, police, and other agencies
- Preparing comprehensive reports for court proceedings
- Providing expert advice and guidance to colleagues
The role requires experience in safeguarding children and working with vulnerable families.
The successful candidate will possess a relevant social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent) and significant experience in child protection work within a local authority setting. Proven ability to manage complex cases, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the capacity to work effectively under pressure are essential. Knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding procedures is crucial. Experience of court work and report writing is highly desirable.
