We are seeking dedicated Residential Childcare Workers for a permanent, full-time position in a children's secure service. The service supports children with social, emotional and behavioural issues ages 10-18 with past trauma. As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will support children and young people on their journeys from secure services, to residential and then throughcare or transitioning back to their families, own tenancy or adult support services. This position is challenging yet rewarding, offering you the opportunity to observe the long-term growth and progress of young people.

A successful child support worker will be responsible for:

  • Working effectively as part of a team of child support workers
  • Providing 24 hours care to vulnerable young people
  • Supporting service users with early trauma and emotional behavioural difficulties
  • Taking service users out into the community and to school each day
  • Ensuring professional boundaries are in place
  • Maintaining a professional manner and working to National Care Standards

To be successful in your application, you will:

  • Have 1 year previous experience working in a residential setting with young people
  • Have flexibility in the roles undertaken
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Register under the PVG scheme
  • Full driving licence
  • Obtained, or working towards SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent desirable
