Are you an experienced social worker with Kinship experience? Do you have a passion for providing first class support to Children's Services? An exciting opportunity has become available for a Locum Social Worker to join a Kinship Team in the Wigan area. You will be based with the Fostering Service, completing kinship assessments for the fostering panel, courts and offering support to kinship foster carers.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments of kinship caregivers, children and their immediate environment
  • Court Assessment Work
  • Case Management, implement case plans for kinship families
  • Provide support to the kinship caregivers and the children
  • Be an advocate for the children and kinship families
  • Link kinship caregivers and the children with resources such as education, health care, legal support and financial assistance

To be considered for the Social Worker role:

  • 1-3 years experience of working within a similar social work setting
  • Experience of assessing kinship caregivers and implementing case plans
  • Diploma/Degree in Social Work
  • SWE registration
