Job Description: As a Band 5 RGN, you will be integral to the effective functioning of the Emergency Departments, providing high-quality patient care. You will work within a dynamic environment, supporting the medical team in delivering timely and efficient interventions.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct rapid triage, provide Resus support, and perform acute interventions such as IVs, cannulation, and wound care across Majors, Minors, and CDU.
- Continuously monitor vital signs using NEWS2 and promptly escalate any deteriorating patients.
- Assist with complex cases within the Major Trauma Centre framework.
- Manage patient flow, conduct SBAR handovers, and participate in multidisciplinary discharge planning.
- Maintain meticulous digital records, report incidents via Datix, and adhere strictly to infection control policies.
- Provide compassionate communication to families in crisis and mentor junior staff and students.
