Job Description

We are partnering with a large, well-known care provider to recruit a dedicated Senior Care Worker to join their committed team. This is a pivotal role where you will act as a senior member of staff, providing essential support to service users and efficiently managing your own care team.

The Role: What You'll Be Doing

As a Senior Care Worker, you will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and support within the service, helping to maintain professional social care standards. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Team Leadership: Planning, allocating, and supervising the work of your staff team, including conducting formal supervision and appraisal meetings.

  • Operational Management: Assisting with rota planning, providing management cover in the absence of the Service Manager/Deputy, and ensuring the safety and security of the building.

  • Care Planning: Acting as a key worker for designated service users, leading the compilation, monitoring, and review of person-centred care plans.

  • Quality & Compliance: Taking charge of medication management (ordering, administering, and auditing) and assisting in auditing against quality standards and service improvement plans.

  • Staff Development: Being involved in recruitment, induction, identifying training needs, and assessing staff for SVQs.

  • Promoting Wellbeing: Ensuring a safe, secure, and supportive environment, promoting the wellbeing of all service users with dignity and respect.

You will also be required to undertake occasional "sleep-in" duties.

What You'll Need

The client is looking for a proactive and experienced individual with:

  • Essential Qualification:SVQ level 3.

  • Professional Commitment: The ability to complete further qualifications such as PDA supervision, PDA medication, SVQ 4, and the workplace assessor's award.

  • Core Skills: Basic computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office and the internet.

  • Registration: Must be registered with the SSSC and be a member of the PVG Scheme.

Important Note: As this role involves working within the organisation's Christian ethos, the successful applicant must possess a Christian faith and be able to work within and uphold this ethos. This is an Occupational Requirement.
