We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Locum Special Guardianship Order (SGO) / Kinship Social Worker to join a specialized team within Manchester City Council (MCC). This is a vital temporary position offering an excellent rate and flexible hybrid working.
The Role: Special Guardianship & Kinship
You will be responsible for undertaking in-depth assessments and providing support to connected persons caring for children under SGOs and other kinship arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting high-quality, comprehensive Special Guardianship Assessments (SGA) and Connected Persons Assessments.
- Preparing detailed, evidence-based reports for court proceedings and Panel consideration.
- Providing ongoing post-order support, advice, and guidance to Special Guardians and kinship carers.
- Working closely with legal services, LAC teams, and the judiciary to achieve permanence for children.

- Pay Rate: Competitive rate of £35.00 per hour (Umbrella).
- Location: Manchester City Council (MCC).
- Working Pattern: Hybrid working model (mix of office and home-based working).

Requirements
- Must be a Qualified Social Worker (QSW), registered with Social Work England.

- Ability to produce detailed, analytical, and court-ready written work to strict deadlines.
