The Work You’ll Do

As a Children’s Social Worker in Wigan, you will manage a varied, rewarding caseload spanning the entire journey of the child. Your daily practice will focus on long-term planning and dynamic safeguarding interventions:

  • Diverse Case Management: Safely hold and progress a mixed caseload consisting of Children in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Children Looked After (CLA).
  • Court Arena Work: Guide cases confidently through the court arena, preparing analytical legal assessments, writing statements, and advocating fiercely for the child’s best interests.
