Support Worker role with Hillcrest, located at Burnside Court in Alyth.
The Role & Service
Burnside Court is a small, supported living service that supports 5 individuals with a range of complex needs, including learning disabilities, autism, ADHD, and one wheelchair user. This is a waking night position where the service is generally quieter, as service users tend to sleep well. Because the service has not had a consistent staff team for over 6 months, there is a strong opportunity for ongoing work beyond the initial booking, which could progress into a temp‑to‑perm (T2P) role for the right candidate.
The Schedule
- Dates: The initial booking runs from June 1st to July 31st, but there is a strong likelihood of extension.
- Working Days: Monday through Thursday only.
- Shift Time: 21:45 – 07:30 (Waking Night Shift).
- Flexibility: The service is open to ad hoc or contracted workers. A shadow shift or service visit can be arranged before starting.
Key Duties
- Providing overnight support and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all service users.
- Remaining alert during the night to respond to any incidents or needs that arise.
- Completing cleaning and general housekeeping duties overnight.
- Working alongside a sleepover staff member on site who can provide additional support if required.
Pay Rate
The night and weekend charge rate is £19 per hour (Umbrella).
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: Previous experience in care/support work is essential, and experience working with learning disabilities, autism, or complex needs is highly desirable.
- Skills: Candidates must be able to work independently, remain alert during waking nights, and be reliable enough to commit to consistent Monday‑Thursday work. A First Aid certification is preferred.
- Location: Applicants should be able to reliably commute to Burnside Court in Alyth (a commute of up to 45 minutes to the service is accepted).
