Are you a skilled and experienced practitioner with a passion for safeguarding children? Tameside is seeking a full-time Conference Chair to lead Child Protection Initial and Review Conferences. This is a vital statutory role where your expertise and independence will help drive forward best practice and ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable children.

Responsibilities:
- Chair Child Protection Initial and Review Conferences within statutory timescales
- Maintain professional independence from operational and line management case responsibilities
- Conduct midpoint reviews to ensure progress and compliance in child protection plans
- Complete Practice Review Processes to identify and challenge drift, delay, or poor practice
- Provide professional input at legal gateway meetings and relevant multi-agency forums
- Chair Child in Need (CIN) meetings where required
- Undertake home visits to children as appropriate
To be considered for the role, ideally you will have:
- Significant experience chairing complex Child Protection Conferences
- In-depth knowledge of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance
- Ability to challenge and influence practice constructively
- Must be local to Tameside and able to work fully office based
- Qualified Social Worker with active Social Work England registration
