We are seeking dedicated and experienced Support Workers to join our team, providing essential care and support care packages for complex children and young people across Southampton. This role is crucial for supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs, learning disabilities and mental health conditions.
Responsibilities
- Provide consistent and compassionate support to children within residential and community settings.
- Assist children in managing emotional and behavioural challenges, implementing agreed care plans.
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and stable environment for young people.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning discussions.
- Able to work autonomously and be confident in safeguarding protocols.
- Able to liaise with other healthcare & social care professionals and emergency services.
Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience working specifically within Residential Children's settings.
- Proven experience working with children who have experienced trauma.
- Ideally, hold a valid UK driving licence; however, this is not essential.
- Flexibility to travel up to 1 hour to homes within the locality.
- Availability for both day and night shifts, including long days with sleep-ins.
- Eligible to work full‑time hours in the UK without restrictions.
Shift patterns
- Days w/ Sleeps: 10:00 - 23:00 with a sleep‑in, followed by 7:00 - 10:00.
- Long Days: 08:00 - 20:00
- Waking Nights: 20:00 - 08:00
Pay Rates
- Day Rate: £16.00 per hour
- Waking Night Rate: £18.00 per hour
- Sleep‑in Rate: £70 flat rate
