Randstad are looking for an experienced and motivating Senior Practitioner to join our residential service. This role is pivotal in supporting the House Manager with the efficient operational management of the home while providing excellent care to children and young people. You will be a key figure in managing a staff team and ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained. You can expect a fantastic salary between Β£28,645.50 to Β£29,464.50, doe.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Assist the House Manager in the day-to-day running of the service and assume full responsibility in their absence.
- Staff Management: Provide support, direction, and regular supervision to Residential Child Care Practitioners.
- Operational Oversight: Manage staff rotas to ensure sufficient cover and oversee allocated budgets in line with company policy.
- Emergency Response: Be available for on-call duties and respond to emergencies outside of normal shift hours when necessary.
- Care & Wellbeing: Ensure children receive individual support and guidance tailored to their needs and wishes. Promote, safeguard, and protect the welfare of young people at all times. Lead innovative approaches to improve the wellbeing of children and identify any areas of unmet need. Encourage participation in socially valued activities within the local community.
- Education & Advocacy: Ensure young people attend educational facilities and advocate on their behalf if access is withdrawn. Support Alternative Curriculum and Curriculum Enrichment programs.
- Reporting & Administration: Contribute to monthly reports and in-house care plans, adhering to the principles of GIRFEC (Getting It Right For Every Child) and SHANARRI indicators. Maintain accurate records and case files while ensuring all administrative functions are completed.
- Communication & Safety: Foster good communication between staff, residents, parents, and external agencies. Adopt a proactive role in risk management to ensure the safety of all children, staff, and visitors. Attend monthly team meetings and required training refreshers.
