Leeds City Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Practitioner to join our Child & Family Assessment Team. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a social worker with expertise in conducting comprehensive assessments and developing effective support plans.
About the Role:
- Conduct complex and high-risk assessments of children and families, using a range of assessment tools and methodologies.
- Develop and implement comprehensive and person-centered care plans, coordinating services and resources to meet the needs of each family.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues on complex cases, promoting best practice and consistent service delivery.
- Supervise and mentor junior social workers, supporting their professional development and growth.
- Participate in multi-agency meetings and contribute to strategic decision-making within the team.
- Contribute to service development and improvement initiatives, ensuring continuous quality improvement.
Requirements:
- Registered with Social Care England.
- Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience as a qualified Social Worker. Significant experience in child and family assessment is essential; experience in a supervisory or advanced practice role is highly desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures relating to child protection and safeguarding.
- Excellent assessment, communication, and case management skills.
- Ability to build rapport and trust with children, families, and other professionals.
- Commitment to person-centered practice and ethical standards.
