Senior Occupational Therapist - Adult Social Care

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Adult Social Care team.

In this pivotal role, you will work across short-term interventions, long-term assessment, and safeguarding services to enhance the independence and well-being of individuals aged 18 and over.

You will be instrumental in delivering strengths-based assessments and implementing person-centred support plans that prioritise dignity and respect.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive, strengths-based Occupational Therapy assessments, including functional and environmental evaluations.
  • Provide expert guidance, coaching, and on-the-job training to support colleagues, students, and practitioners.
  • Manage complex caseloads with professional autonomy, ensuring risk management and statutory compliance.
  • Develop and review risk mitigation plans, ensuring individuals are protected and supported to achieve independent outcomes.
  • Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary stakeholders to ensure integrated care and optimal service delivery.
  • Implement safeguarding policies, ensuring the safety of vulnerable adults in accordance with the Care Act.

Qualifications

  • Accredited Occupational Therapy degree or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Current registration with the appropriate professional body.
  • Proven experience in independent assessment and support delivery at a senior level.
  • Successful completion of ASYE or equivalent significant post-qualification experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of national legislation, statutory frameworks, and safeguarding principles.
  • Willingness to complete Best Interest Assessor (BIA) training.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
