About the Role:

  • We are looking for a highly skilled and compassionate Qualified Social Worker to provide expert assessments and support within private law children's cases. This crucial role will involve:
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families involved in private law disputes (e.g., child arrangements, specific issue orders, prohibited steps orders).
  • Providing impartial and evidence-based reports for court, focusing on the child's welfare and best interests.
  • Engaging directly with children to ascertain their wishes and feelings, ensuring their voices are heard within legal proceedings.
  • Working collaboratively with legal professionals, families, and other agencies to achieve positive outcomes for children.
  • Offering professional advice and recommendations to the court on complex family dynamics and child welfare issues.

About You:

  • We are seeking a Qualified Social Worker with:
  • Substantial post-qualifying experience in social work, with a proven track record in children's services, ideally within a family court or private law context.
  • A comprehensive understanding of relevant family law legislation and its application to children's cases.
  • Excellent assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to engage effectively with children, parents, and legal professionals.
  • The ability to work independently and manage a caseload efficiently under pressure.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children at all times.
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
