Randstad has an opportunity available for an Early Year’s Assistant to join the team in the BT37 area. The ideal candidate will work with the Programme Supervisor to deliver quality early year’s services that meet the needs of families, supporting children in their developmental programme for 2-3 year olds with a focus on constructive play, social development and communication skills.

Requirements
- QCF 3 in Childcare or equivalent (or a commitment to completing QCF 3)
- A minimum of 12 months’ experience in an Early Years setting, preferably with children aged 0-4
- A valid driver’s license and access to a car
- Knowledge and understanding of how children learn and develop through play
- Understanding of Child Protection guidelines and health and safety requirements
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with parents and staff
Candidates will be subject to enhanced vetting / compliance checks including an Enhanced Access NI check due to the nature of this work, this may include a Barred List check for both Children & Vulnerable Adults (depending on the role).
Responsibilities
- Contribute to creating a safe and stimulating environment with age-appropriate activities
- Encourage parents to engage positively during play sessions
- Prepare activities and ensure play areas are clean and set up prior to and after sessions
- Adhere to Child Protection policies and maintain strict confidentiality
- Participate in training, team planning meetings and the supervision process
- Fulfil the role of keyworker, including recording observations to meet children’s developmental needs
- Ensure Health and Safety policies are implemented and adhered to at all times
- Support the delivery of the developmental programme to enhance social and language skills
