Exciting Opportunity: Autism Practitioners (Temp-to-Perm) in the South West. Are you a compassionate and dedicated professional looking to empower autistic individuals to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives? Scottish Autism is currently recruiting for Full-Time Autism Practitioners to join their South West Service on a Temp-to-Perm basis.

In this role, you will help support over 48 autistic individuals to live independent lives through tailored care, spanning Housing Support, Supported Living, residential care, and transitional assessment services.

Locations Covered: Lanark, Carluke, and Biggar (Office Community-based).

Pay Rates Allowances:

  • Starting Rate: £13.45 per hour.
  • Post-Engagement Rate: £13.67 per hour.
  • Progression Scale: Opportunity to progress up to £14.15 per hour at your own pace.
  • Sleepovers: A generous additional £107.60 per sleepover worked.

The Schedule:

  • Hours: Full-time (6 FTE roles available).
  • Shift Patterns: Days and Evening shifts.
  • Flexibility: You must be able to undertake shift work, including evenings, weekends, and sleepovers.
  • On-Call: Participation in the on-call rota is required, dependent on your development stage and location.

Key Duties:

  • Providing personal care and support with household chores.
  • Acting as a Keyworker, leading regular meetings and participating in reviews.
  • Following and developing outcome-based support plans in partnership with the individuals and their families.
  • Implementing low-arousal support following Studio 3 principles, with a focus on reducing and eliminating restraint.

Requirements:

  • Compliance: You must be registered with the SSSC (or equivalent) or be willing to work towards a relevant qualification.
  • Safeguarding: Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme is essential.
