Randstad are looking for Residential Childcare Workers to join our dedicated and expert team providing support for children with social, emotional and behavioural issues ages 10-18 with past trauma. This position is challenging yet rewarding, offering you the opportunity to observe the long-term growth and progress of young people.

A successful residential childcare worker will be responsible for:

  • Encouraging the physical, emotional and social wellbeing of the children in the service
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with children in the service and acting as a key worker to children
  • Utilising positive behaviour techniques
  • Coordinating with teachers, social workers and wider care team to monitor and advance the needs of young people
  • Maintaining professional manner and working to National Care Standards
  • Promoting participation in education and life skills programmes

To be successful in your application, you will:

  • Have previous experience working in a residential setting with young people
  • Have flexibility in the roles undertaken
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Register under the PVG scheme
  • Full driving licence
  • Obtained, or working towards SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent desirable
