North Tyneside Council is seeking an Advanced Practitioner to join our Cared For Teams (Looked After Children). In North Tyneside, we are committed to providing stable, loving, and permanent homes for our children in care. As an Advanced Practitioner, you won't just manage a caseload; you will act as a beacon of best practice, mentoring less experienced staff and driving excellence across the service.

The Role:

  • Impact & Leadership Expert Practice: Manage a small, highly complex caseload that requires advanced analytical skills and expert intervention.
  • Mentorship: Act as a "Practice Champion," providing coaching and support to Social Workers and ASYEs to help them develop their skills.
  • Quality Assurance: Assist in maintaining high standards through case audits, peer reviews, and the implementation of innovative social work models.
  • Stability: Work specifically with children in care to ensure their pathway to permanence is clear, timely, and focused on their long-term well-being.

What We're Looking For:

  • Deep Experience: Substantial post-qualifying experience within a Cared For or Looked After Children setting.
  • Leadership Potential: A natural ability to lead by example and inspire confidence in colleagues and partner agencies.
  • Academic & Professional Standing: Social Work degree, active Social Work England registration, and evidence of continued professional development.
