When young people with trauma backgrounds wake up during the night, they rely on a compassionate, calm presence to help them feel grounded. A skilled waking night worker brings stability during anxious moments and maintains a high standard of home management behind the scenes. We are building a team of waking night workers across Treorchy to support key residential services and upcoming packages. You will play a vital role in providing emotional safety, carrying out night administrative duties, and keeping the home clean and organized for the daytime team.

How you will make a difference

  • Promote Safety And Peace: Uphold high safeguarding standards and offer gentle verbal de-escalation if a child wakes in distress
  • Prepare The Household: Perform required night set tasks, perform security routines, and prep the home for the next day
  • Complete Night Records: Fill in comprehensive daily shift logs, incident reports, and paperwork accurately before handover

What you will bring

  • Relevant Experience: At least 6 months of paid care work within a UK youth residential, SEN, or mental health setting
