Are you an experienced Children's Social Worker looking for a high-paying, supportive locum assignment in Greater Manchester?
Salford City Council is recruiting a dedicated Social Worker to join their Child Protection & Children in Need (CP/CIN) Service. Offering an attractive pay rate of £39.00 per hour, this role is ideal for a skilled practitioner with a proven track record in statutory child protection, risk management, and outcome-focused care planning.
Key Responsibilities:

Statutory Case Management: Hold and manage a varied caseload of Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) cases, delivering high-quality, outcome-focused interventions.

Child & Family Assessments: Complete robust, timely assessments, identifying risk factors and establishing clear safety plans for vulnerable children.

Multi-Agency Leadership: Chair core group meetings, lead CIN reviews, and work closely with multi-agency partners across health, education, and police to ensure robust safeguarding.

Court & PLO Awareness: Support pre-proceedings and legal processes under the Public Law Outline (PLO) framework where necessary to achieve permanence and stability.
What We Are Looking For:

Qualifications & SWE: Recognised Social Work qualification with active Social Work England (SWE) registration.

Statutory CP/CIN Experience: Proven post-qualifying experience within statutory Children's Social Care (CP/CIN, Assessment, or Safeguarding teams).

Risk & Threshold Assessment: Sound knowledge of statutory child protection frameworks, risk management, and signs of safety practice models.

Mobility: Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for community and family visits across Salford.
