Are you a dedicated Registered Nurse with a passion for supporting young people? We are currently seeking a compassionate and highly skilled School Nurse to join our specialised educational team. In this pivotal role, you will act as the clinical lead for 200 learners with complex additional needs, ensuring they receive the high-quality care and support necessary to thrive in an inclusive environment.

- Pay Rate: £26.00 Umbrella or £22.51 PAYE
Responsibilities
- Clinical Excellence: Deliver high-quality clinical care and first aid to learners with diverse health needs, collaborating with the care team to ensure seamless medical coverage.
- Healthcare Planning: Develop, review, and maintain individual Healthcare Plans (HCPs) in partnership with families, multidisciplinary teams, and external health agencies.
- Medication Management: Oversee the safe storage, administration, and auditing of medications, managing protocols for emergency rescue medications including epilepsy and anaphylaxis response.
- Governance & Liaison: Lead medical reporting and act as the primary liaison between the school, paediatric specialists, GPs, therapists, and social care services.
- Staff Empowerment: Assess staff competency and coordinate specialist medical training (e.g., gastrostomy feeding, tracheostomy care) to build capacity across the school.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN, RSCN, or RNLD) with current, active NMC registration.
- Proven experience working with children or young people with complex needs, physical disabilities, or neurodivergence.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric care, complex medication administration, and clinical risk assessment.
- In-depth understanding of safeguarding procedures and SEND best practices within an educational setting.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead, upskill non-clinical staff, and collaborate effectively with multi-agency partners.
