Locum Qualified Social Worker (Children & Families) - Inverness
Are you a dedicated social worker ready to make a meaningful, lasting difference in the lives of children and families? Randstad is seeking experienced professionals to join statutory Children & Families teams across Inverness. This is an excellent opportunity to manage a diverse caseload across the full child journey, from initial intake through to long-term permanence planning.
Responsibilities
Duty & Screening: Manage initial enquiries, conduct intake assessments, and lead urgent safety interventions and joint Section 52 (CP) inquiries.
Child Protection (CP): Conduct dynamic risk assessments, formulate robust protection plans, and facilitate core groups to safeguard vulnerable children and unborn babies.
Looked After Children (LAC): Oversee care plans and review outcomes for children and young people within foster, residential, or kinship care settings.
Permanence Planning: Execute comprehensive permanence assessments, draft detailed Child's Plan reports, and confidently present cases to the Permanence Panel.
Statutory Representation: Prepare analytical reports and provide expert representation for the authority at Children's Hearings and Sheriff Court proceedings.
Qualifications
Qualification: Recognised professional Social Work qualification (BA Hons, DipSW, MSc, or equivalent).
Registration: Active registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC), or registered with Social Work England with eligibility to switch.
Vetting: Valid PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) scheme membership for working with children.
Experience: Proven post-qualifying experience in statutory Children & Families teams, including Duty, CP, LAC, or Permanence pathways.
Mobility: Full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle, as this is essential for community visits throughout the region.
