Core Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality day-to-day emotional, practical, and physical support to young people within therapeutic and secure residential settings.
• Establish trusting relationships, act as a positive role model, and help develop essential life skills, daily routines, and educational engagement.
• Manage complex or challenging behaviors using specialized physical and verbal de-escalation techniques.
• Maintain clear, accurate, and confidential records in line with Care Inspectorate and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate closely with social workers, educators, healthcare professionals, and multidisciplinary teams to implement personalized care plans.

Requirements

• Experience in residential childcare, social care, youth work, or high-support mental health environments is desirable.
• SSSC registration or a commitment to register within required regulatory timeframes.
• Valid UK Driving Licence (essential for community-based roles).
• Strong emotional resilience, active listening skills, and the ability to maintain clear professional boundaries under pressure.
