We are seeking reliable, enthusiastic, and community-minded Support Workers for a registered outreach service supporting children and adults (ages 7-54) across Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire.
The Role & Responsibilities
- Community & Day Activities: Drive and accompany service users on trips to parks, science centres, and in-house play schemes featuring sensory and jungle rooms.
- Direct Care & Safety: Assist with personal care and continence support (including nappy changing for young people), manage emergency first aid when required, and support individuals with specific needs such as Pica.
- Service Continuity: Deliver dependable, scheduled support to eliminate package cancellations and provide high quality care.
Working Hours & Shift Patterns
- Schedule: Monday to Friday with shifts between 09:00 and 19:30 (varies by package), plus every 2nd Saturday. No Sunday shifts.
- Hours: Core schedules aim for 20+ hours per week, with full-time hours available to cover onboarding, annual leave, and sickness.
Candidate Requirements
- Driver Status (Essential): Must have a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle to transport service users (mileage reimbursed; business insurance required).
- Skills & Qualifications: Previous care experience (Children, Adults, or Complex Needs/Pica support preferred). Emergency First Aid knowledge is advantageous.
- Gender Preference: Female staff preferred for specific packages, but male candidates meeting all criteria are encouraged to apply.
- Attributes: Punctual, reliable, energetic, and committed to offering positive support.
Pay Rates
- Basic Day Rate: £25.53/hr
- Nights / Weekends: £26.47/hr
- Sleepover Rate: £18.56/hr
