  • Role: Weighbridge Operator (Part-Time)
  • Pay Rate: £12.68 per hour (PAYE)
  • Location:Torr Concrete Products, East Cranmore, Shepton Mallet, Somerset BA4 4SQ, UK.
  • Shift Pattern: 8am to 5pm with half an hour break
  • Contract Length: Minimum 3 months with the possibility of extension
  • Start: Asap (Once completing onboarding checks)

Responsibilities:

  • Manage weighbridge operations, ensuring all vehicle movements are recorded accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to drivers, contractors, and internal teams, resolving queries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Process delivery and collection documentation, ensuring all records are maintained to company standards.
  • Support stock management by monitoring material movements and ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Conduct regular checks to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining site security by controlling vehicle access and ensuring all visitors adhere to safety protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with site management, sharing updates on weighbridge activities and operational concerns.

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role or within a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong IT skills, with experience in systems such as SAP or similar platforms, preferred.
  • Logistics experience with knowledge of lorry weight limits
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with drivers, trades and colleagues
  • Customer service focus with a people-oriented approach
  • Proven ability to handle customer queries professionally and effectively.
  • Excellent time management, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Understanding of safe working practices and site protocols.
