Laboratory Assistant (Part-Time) – Warrington (Job Ref: 25/LAWG)

We have exciting new career opportunities for Laboratory Assistants, at our laboratory in Warrington. In this role you will be working with samples from both our Randox Health clinics and 3rd parties in our busy Warrington laboratory.
Location: Unit 2 Bishops Court. Warrington, WA2 8QY
Contract Offered: Part-time, permanent
Working Hours / Shifts: 16 hours per week. Sunday, 2pm to 8.30pm and Monday, 10am to 8.40pm. Some flexibility may be required.
What does this role involve?
This role is responsible for assisting with routine clinical testing in our laboratory. The main duties of the role include:
• Routine use of the RCLS Laboratory Information Management System (LIMs).
• Receipt and Accession of External, Randox Health, Clinical Trial, Internal R&D, Production, EQA and QC Samples for Analysis.
• Specimen Analysis, Storage and Disposal.
• Maintenance of Sample Inventory.
• Strict adherence to chain of custody procedures throughout the analytical process.
• Operation and Maintenance of SYSMEX XS-1000i Haematology, Urinalysis and Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) analysers.
• Ownership of External Quality Control (EQA) Schemes for Urine Dipstick, Urine Chemistries and Full Blood Count involving the review, filing and storage of quality control records.
• Maintenance of Stock Control in laboratory.
• Removal of expired products.
• The preparation of specimens for transportation to ensure that their stability is safeguarded during shipment to the appropriate analytical laboratory.
• Recording and monitoring of temperatures for laboratory equipment.

Desirable:
• Bachelor’s degree in a science subject
• Previous laboratory experience
