We have an exciting new career opportunity for a Phlebotomist within our clinic located in a Holland & Barrett store in Southampton.

Location: 48-50 Above Bar Street, Southampton, SO14 7DS.

Contract Offered: Full‑time, permanent.

Working Hours / Shifts: 8.20 am to 5 pm, alternating weekly between a Monday‑to‑Friday and Tuesday‑to‑Saturday shift pattern. Shifts may change.

Vaccination and Checks: Must be vaccinated against Hepatitis B or able to receive it after interview. Must undergo an enhanced DBS check as per CQC guidelines.

Right to Work Requirement: Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK for at least 12 months from application date. Randox does not offer visa sponsorship.

What the Phlebotomist does: This role ensures customers receive an excellent experience from the moment they enter the clinic, taking blood samples from private and corporate clients. The responsibilities include:

  • Conduct comprehensive client appointments, including blood and urine sample collection, personal health measurements, and data entry into the Patient Information System (PIS).
  • Communicate sensitively to ensure client understanding and consent.
  • Maintain accurate records in PIS and upload relevant documentation.
  • Represent the company professionally at offsite events and appointments.
  • Engage in upselling and cross‑selling at the private health clinic.
  • Drive sales proactively and exceed targets.
  • Complete company forms, specimen labelling, and laboratory test order forms accurately.
  • Demonstrate high IT literacy to manage various software systems and daily tasks.

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous phlebotomy experience and certificate or equivalent training.
  • Confidence using IT programmes.
  • Flexibility with working hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Flexibility to work from offsite locations at least once per month.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a private healthcare setting.
  • Experience in customer service.
  • 2 years experience in phlebotomy.
  • Sales or retail experience.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
