Location: 61 Largy Road, Crumlin, Co Antrim, BT29 4RR. Contract Offered: Full-time, Permanent Working Hours / Shifts: 40 hours per week, 7.40am to 6.10pm, Monday to Thursday. What does this involve? This role is responsible for overseeing and managing the delivery of molecular based products, as well as guiding the team in technical development. The main duties of the role include: Leading the team and projects within one of the Molecular R&D sections. Ensure that projects are delivered in accordance with agreed goals and in line with the R&D departments and companies annual objectives. Act as the interface between the project teams, R&D managers and senior company management. Lead projects with external business partners when required. Oversee and periodically review the experimental design and planning, task allocation of individuals performed by their team members to ensure that its being performed to the appropriate level. Outline the resource, materials, equipment requirements and estimated timeframes needed to deliver all approved R&D project / R&D section activities. Oversee the training, development, and competency levels within the team. Set annual performance goals for staff and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for projects and tracks against milestones and agreed timelines. Be responsible for overseeing the management of and ensuring that the facilities, equipment, etc are fit for intended use' and that company processes and procedures are always adhered to by staff. Day to day management of the team leaders, within the Molecular R&D team. Turn ideas and innovative solutions into recommendations for new products and/or services, process improvements. Oversee any recommended R&D process / procedural improvement, change control requests and review the impact of these change requests on the department (and potentially other departments), prioritising, and recommending approval. Who can apply? Essential criteria: A bachelors degree in Biochemistry, Biomedical Science or a Life Science related discipline. Experience within a molecular lab. Experience in a lead role within R&D. Proven experience in commercial molecular assay, reagents, system design and development, verification and validation. Excellent communication and organisation skills Strong leadership skills. Desirable: Experience with IVDR. Proven people management skills including with external stakeholders.
