Location: Home based in the Greater Manchester area, with regular travel required to Randox sites, mainly across the North of England and Scotland. Some travel to other parts of the UK and Ireland will be required on occasion.
Contract Offered: Full‑time, Permanent
Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 08:40 to 17:20. Some flexibility may be required.
What does this role involve? The main purpose of this role is to perform required electrical maintenance of existing Randox sites and fit out of new sites across the UK and Ireland.
Key duties include:
- Ensuring all work complies with current electrical regulations and that paperwork is stored appropriately.
- Assisting with subcontractors visiting sites for necessary/preventative maintenance.
- Conducting yearly periodic testing to keep boards up to date, and maintaining accurate records.
- Raising material purchase requisitions and forwarding them to the Facilities Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Maintaining adequate stock records for all materials held.
- Assisting the Facilities Supervisor with planning electrical installations for new extensions and alterations.
- Liaising with the Facilities Supervisor daily/weekly for updates.
- Executing work schedules for all relevant electrical maintenance promptly.
- Forwarding all job sheets at the end of each week for inclusion in the next schedule of works.
- Carrying out PAT testing in a timely manner and setting aside at least one day a week for testing, with records kept securely.
- Co‑ordinating with the Facilities Supervisor regarding audits and ensuring all requests are completed.
- Testing generators once a month and keeping records up to date.
- Performing monthly site walk‑rounds externally to log any external maintenance required.
- Executing necessary internal testing related to emergency lighting and escape routes.
- Ensuring all team members use appropriate PPE and adhere to Health and Safety Guidelines.
- Conducting monthly H&S checks on all equipment and reporting to the Supervisor.
- Traveling regularly to existing and new Randox sites throughout the UK and Ireland.
Essential Criteria:
- Trained to 18th edition electrical regulations.
- Understanding of building regulations for electrical installations.
- JIB approved electrician.
- Good understanding of generators, CCTV and BMS.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Flexibility to travel regularly throughout the UK and Ireland.
