Job summary

Location: Unit 3 711-713 Lisburn Road, Belfast, County Antrim, BT9 7GU. Also working at our Holywood clinic.

Contract Offered: Full-time, permanent

Working Hours / Shifts: Holywood & Lisburn Road - 1 cluster (You could be working at either of these locations) - 12 hour days, 4 on 4 off, 7 days per week. 4 on / 4 off may include shift times of 6.40am to 6.40pm and 7.20am to 7.20pm. Crumlin - 12 hour days, 4 on 4 off, 7 days per week. 4 on / 4 off may include shift times of 6.40am to 6.40pm and 7.20am to 7.20pm.

For this position, as you may be in contact with live blood samples, you must be vaccinated against Hepatitis B or be able to get it following a successful interview stage. In line with Care Quality Commission guidelines, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced Access NI check.

Right to Work Requirement

Please note that this role requires candidates to have the legal right to work in the UK for a minimum of 12 months from the application date. This is to ensure completion of our 9-month probationary period and for any potential sponsorship decisions to be considered. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship at the point of hire.

What does the Phlebotomist role involve?

This role is responsible for ensuring customers have an excellent experience from the moment they enter our clinic, taking blood samples from both private and corporate clients. This is a varied role that may also include the following responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive client appointments, including blood and urine sample collection, personal health measurements, and data entry into our Patient Information Systems (PIS).
  • Maintain accurate records in PIS, uploading all relevant documentation.
  • Represent the company professionally at offsite events and appointments.
  • Engage in upselling and cross-selling at our private health clinic.
  • Meet, greet, and check in clients, ensuring a welcoming and professional front-of-house experience.
  • Respond to client enquiries via telephone and email, providing accurate information and excellent customer service.
  • Process blood samples within the on-site laboratory in accordance with company procedures and quality standards.
  • Perform routine laboratory duties, including sample preparation, centrifugation, storage, packaging, and dispatch where required.

Essential criteria:

  • Confident using IT programmes.
  • A genuine interest in becoming a Phlebotomist.
  • Flexibility with working hours, as required by the business inclusive of evenings and weekends.
  • Flexibility to work from offsite locations at least once per month.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Valid UK or Irish driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a private healthcare setting.
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Sales / Retail experience.
