What do Randox Testing Services do?

Randox Testing Services are specialists in the drug and alcohol testing industry. Working to strict procedures governed by our ISO17025 accreditation, the team at Randox Testing Services work closely with customers, health and safety and human resources departments to maintain the health and wellbeing of their employees and the wider public they work with. By preventing the misuse of controlled substances and alcohol, and by identifying those who require assistance with dependency issues, Randox Testing Service provide a critical service protecting all safety critical industries.

The successful candidate will become part of an integrated team whose roles are crucial in the preparation of laboratory evidence which may be presented at occupation health hearings, industrial tribunals or Family Court. This role can make a difference to the welfare of our customers and help shape people's future.

Location: 34 Diamond Road, Crumlin, BT29 4QX.

Contract Offered: Full-time, Permanent

Working Hours / Shifts: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8.40am to 5.20pm.

What does this role involve?

This role is responsible for providing drug and alcohol testing services to safety critical business across the UK, Ireland, and overseas. The main duties of the role include:

  • The development and validation of new LCMS (liquid chromatography mass spectrometry) methods for the identification and quantification of analytes from biological specimens.
  • Troubleshooting and improvement of existing chromatography - mass spectral analytical methods and associated processes.
  • The routine maintenance and calibration of analytical instrumentation.
  • The processing, review and interpretation of analytical data and preparation and maintenance of analytical records/ quality documentation.
  • Strict adherence to chain of custody procedures throughout the analytical process.
  • Strict adherence to the company's confidentiality policy within and outside the organisation.

Essential criteria:

  • Qualified to at least degree level in a Life Science, Biochemistry or Chemistry.
  • At least 2 years previous analytical experience in particular in PHLC or LCMS.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks to achieve maximum efficiency without sacrifice of quality.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Currently have the right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience of developing and validating analytical methods.
  • Previous experience working within an ISO/IEC17025 regulated environment.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of laboratory Health & Safety including CoSHH.
