Receptionist / Phlebotomist – Bournemouth - (Job Ref: 26/RPBM)

We have an exciting new career opportunity for people with either a track record in health care or customer service who would like to be trained as Phlebotomists. Training will be provided by Randox and we can consider full-time or part-time hours.

Location: - Randox Health – Bournemouth

Contract Offered: Permanent. Either full-time or part-time.

Working Hours: 8.40am-5.20pm Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday (rotating). Part-time shifts may be considered.

For this position, as you may be in contact with live blood samples, you must be vaccinated against Hepatitis B or be able to get it following a successful interview stage.

In line with Care Quality Commission guidelines, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS Check

What does the Receptionist / Phlebotomist role involve?

This role is responsible for ensuring customers have an excellent experience from the moment they enter our clinic, taking blood samples from both private and corporate clients. This is a varied role that may also include the following responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive client appointments, including blood and urine sample collection, personal health measurements, and data entry into our Patient Information Systems (PIS).
• Meet, greet, and check in clients, ensuring a welcoming and professional front-of-house experience.
• Respond to client enquiries via telephone and email, providing accurate information and excellent customer service.
• Demonstrate sensitive communication to ensure client understanding and consent.
• Maintain accurate records in PIS, uploading all relevant documentation.
• Engage in upselling and cross-selling at our private health clinic.
• Proactively drive sales and exceed targets.
• Complete company forms, specimen labelling, and laboratory test order forms accurately.Demonstrate high IT literacy in order to manage various software systems and daily tasks.
• Process blood samples within the on-site laboratory in accordance with company procedures and quality standards.
• Adhere to all quality management systems, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
• Support quality assurance activities, including accurate documentation, equipment checks, stock control, and reporting of non-conformances where appropriate.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, organised, and compliant clinical, reception, and laboratory environment.

Essential criteria:

• Confident using IT programmes.
• A genuine interest in becoming a Phlebotomist
• Flexibility with working hours, as required by the business inclusive of evenings and weekends.
• Flexibility to work from offsite locations at least once per month.
• Strong communication skills.
• Currently have the right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
• Valid UK or Irish driving licence.

Desirable:

• Experience in a private healthcare setting.
• Experience in customer service.
• 2 years experience in Phlebotomy.
• Sales / Retail experience.
