Our staff are at the heart of everything we do and achieve. We have an exciting new career opportunity for a Phlebotomist within our clinic within a Holland & Barrett store in Bournemouth.

Location: 30-34 Old Christchurch Road, Bournemouth BH1 1LG.

Contract Offered: Full-time, permanent

Working Hours / Shifts: 8.20am to 5pm, alternating weekly between a Monday to Friday and Tuesday to Saturday shift pattern. These shifts are subject to change.

Requirements:

  • Vaccinated against Hepatitis B or able to obtain vaccination following interview.
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check required.
  • Legal right to work in the UK for a minimum of 12 months from the application date.

What does the Phlebotomist role involve?

This role is responsible for ensuring customers have an excellent experience from the moment they enter our clinic, taking blood samples from both private and corporate clients. It may also include the following responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive client appointments, including blood and urine sample collection, personal health measurements, and data entry into our Patient Information Systems (PIS).
  • Demonstrate sensitive communication to ensure client understanding and consent.
  • Maintain accurate records in PIS, uploading all relevant documentation.
  • Represent the company professionally at offsite events and appointments.
  • Engage in upselling and cross‑selling at our private health clinic.
  • Proactively drive sales and exceed targets.
  • Complete company forms, specimen labelling, and laboratory test order forms accurately.
  • Demonstrate high IT literacy to manage various software systems and daily tasks.

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous Phlebotomy experience and certificate or equivalent training.
  • Confident using IT programmes.
  • Flexibility with working hours, as required by the business inclusive of evenings and weekends.
  • Flexibility to work from offsite locations at least once per month.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Currently have the right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a private healthcare setting.
  • Experience in customer service.
  • 2 years experience in Phlebotomy.
  • Sales / Retail experience.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
