Location: Home based in the Greater Manchester area, with regular travel required to Randox sites across the North of England and Scotland; occasional travel within the UK and Ireland.
Contract: Full‑time, Permanent.
Working hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:40‑17:20 (some flexibility may be required).
What does this role involve?
- Perform electrical maintenance of existing Randox sites and fit‑out of new sites across the UK and Ireland.
- Ensure all work complies with current electrical regulations; maintain required paperwork.
- Assist sub‑contractors visiting sites for preventive maintenance.
- Carry out annual periodic testing of boards, generators and generators monthly; keep secure records.
- Raise material purchase requisitions and maintain stock records.
- Support the Facilities Supervisor in planning electrical installations for extensions and alterations.
- Execute work schedules and forward completed job sheets to the next schedule.
- Conduct PAT testing at least one day a week, record results securely.
- Log generator testing, site walk‑rounds, internal testing (emergency lighting/escape).
- Ensure PPE usage and Health & Safety guidelines compliance; conduct monthly H&S checks.
- Travel regularly to existing and new Randox sites across the UK and Ireland.
Essential criteria:
- Trained to 18th edition electrical regulations.
- Understanding of building regulations for electrical installations.
- JIB approved electrician.
- Good understanding of generators, CCTV and BMS.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Flexibility to travel regularly throughout the UK and Ireland.
Desirable criteria:
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- CSR card.
- Understanding and ability to perform domestic, commercial and industrial installations.
- Ability to perform PAT and thermal imaging testing.
