Our private clients are seeking an exceptional Head Housekeeper / Family Assistant to take full responsibility for the upkeep and smooth running of their recently completed, high-end residence based in Roehampton, Southwest London. This is a dynamic, hands-on role requiring a highly capable individual to act as the principals’ right-hand person within the home. Reporting directly to the Principal and Family PA, this position will manage the part-time Housekeeper and collaborate closely with the Chef and Nannies. As the key operational housekeeping lead within the residence, the postholder will take responsibility for maintaining exceptional standards and delivering smooth, well-organised day-to-day household management.

Schedule
Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm (30m break) with flexibility required to work occasional weekends on request.

Duties

  • Full hands-on housekeeping to an exceptional standard
  • Leading and working alongside a part-time Housekeeper, ensuring consistently high standards
  • Acting as the main point of contact within the home, liaising with the PA, contractors and other staff
  • Overseeing and coordination of the smooth day-to-day running of the residence and wider family life
  • Wardrobe management, garment care and managing dry-cleaning schedules
  • Packing and unpacking for travel
  • Organising systems and implementing processes to ensure the home runs seamlessly
  • Managing household orders, including food, cleaning products and general stock
  • Monitoring appliances and reporting maintenance issues
  • Flower arranging and ensuring the home is beautifully presented at all times
  • Assisting with the family dog and being available to support with children when needed
  • Confidently stepping into the kitchen for breakfasts and occasional simple family-style dinners
  • Occasional table setting and light service when required
  • Any other duties related to the smooth, efficient running of the household

The ideal candidate will be proactive, intuitive and highly organised, with extensive experience in high-end private residences. They will have exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills and the confidence to take ownership of the home while keeping all relevant parties informed. A genuine enjoyment of family life, warmth with children and pets, and pride in maintaining a beautiful home are essential.

This role would suit someone mature, discreet and professional, who thrives in a busy family environment and takes real satisfaction in being the steady, reliable presence at the heart of the household. A driver with their own car would be highly beneficial.

Salary: £55,000 - £58,000 gross per year (depending on experience, may be negotiable for someone who fits all criteria)
