Purpose of the Position

The Security Analyst is responsible for monitoring, analysing, and responding to security risks, threats, and incidents to safeguard the organisation’s people, assets, information, and operations. The role supports proactive risk management and drives continuous improvement of security controls and systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify suspicious activities, anomalies and potential threats.
  • Monitor security systems (CCTV, access control, alarms and related systems).
  • Analyse intelligence and incident data to detect patterns and trends.
  • Respond to security incidents in a timely and structured manner.
  • Assist with investigations and support evidence gathering.
  • Document findings, root causes and corrective actions.
  • Conduct and coordinate security risk assessments across sites and operations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation measures.
  • Compile daily, weekly and monthly security reports.
  • Maintain incident logs, dashboards and tracking systems.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to management.
  • Support and monitor the effectiveness of security systems.
  • Collaborate with IT on system improvements, testing and integration.
  • Assist with the implementation of new security technologies.
