This role is responsible for overseeing asset management, infrastructure upkeep, and maintenance operations across Smelter facilities, including the strategic planning and execution of maintenance projects for all associated infrastructure and process equipment.

Summary Of Key Responsibilities Included But Not Limited To:

  • Direct and manage plant maintenance staff, programs, and processes under the Smelter Operations Manager to ensure the safe, optimal, and efficient operation of all plant machinery and equipment through proactive maintenance programmes.
  • Lead and develop Smelter Maintenance employees through structured performance management and individual development plans.
  • Maximise plant availability by maintaining or exceeding agreed Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) targets.
  • Drive targeted plant efficiency and productivity through process adherence and machine performance optimisation.
  • Monitor and optimise equipment efficiency to minimise failures, incorporating management and staff feedback.
  • Control costs by adhering to approved annual maintenance and project budgets while pursuing cost efficiencies.
  • Champion continuous improvement by identifying issues, developing action plans, implementing solutions, and measuring outcomes.
  • Oversee smaller-scale maintenance and refurbishment projects from planning through to completion.
  • Produce value-adding management reports, including incident feedback, costing, training, and project status reports.
