Purpose of the Position
The purpose of this role is to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of refining the product in the fine gold section and manage the metal balance for sweeps room and fine gold storage locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for resource planning and execution of departmental performance including managing the metal balance.
- Provide timely and accurate cost recovery, material yields, and waste reports.
- Ensure that materials are safely collected and charged according to recipe charge distribution.
- Implement methods used in conducting various studies.
- Ensure that machines are working properly and safely.
- Plan appropriate employee training and development to ensure the continuous and efficient operation of the department.
- Manage and apply the performance management process.
- Assist in undertaking cost improvement studies to identify root causes related to reliability, waste, and efficiencies.
- Comply with and ensure all health and safety rules are met. Address safety concerns proactively.
- Adhere to safety standards, work shifts, and lift heavy materials.
- Carry out technical or first-level management responsibilities within the department.
